Today was my first twelve hour shift in the ER and it was a loooong day. Nothing really exciting or catastrophic happened but it was steady all day long. Most of our patients were just run of the mill aches and pains with a few minor ambulance deliveries thrown in to keep us moving. One of the nurses with a shorter shift went home and baked a luscious lemon pound cake and brought it back in. Now that's hard to beat.
Dar has to work the night shift so she came in just as I was getting ready to leave and tomorrow we will pass each other again. I will be coming in and she will be leaving. At least I'm not working Saturday or Sunday and neither is she. Saturday I may look at some tires for the Jeep, fix the closet rods and shelf next door, or work on the house in Powder Springs. There are about ten other things that I could do if we have time and it quits raining. According to the news that won't happen for a few days though so it looks like we might be better off working.
Saturday night we are all off and will probably all gather at the house to watch the Dawgs and the Razorbacks battle over the pigskin in a great SEC match. For some reason the game doesn't start until 7PM so John will be off in time to watch it too. By Saturday we should know when Jenni will have her surgery and we can work on getting flight tickets and hotel reservations. I've had our financial advisor drop some money in my account so we can afford the trip. It's not cheap going across the country. I wish we had time to take the RV and make it a slow leisure adventure but that would take too long and probably cost more than the air tickets and the motel combined.
John got some pizza's for supper and now I'm stuffed. This didn't help my diet a bit but it sure was good. Every now and then you just have to splurge. I'll do better tomorrow, I promise.
Brad called while I was at work and I couldn't talk because we were so busy so I'll call him back in a bit and see how he's doing.
Okay, Bones is on and my eyes are still killing me so enough for today.
Later...
