Tuesday April 5, 2011

Heavy storms rolled through the area last night with a lot of rain and wind. John called around 2300 last night requesting that I call GA Power and let them know a tree across the street from his house had fallen taking down the power line and a transformer. I checked on him this morning to make sure he was up in time to go to work. He is working for Central Ambulance four days (12 hour shifts) each week and then one day at the hardware store. The city was still removing the tree and limbs when I arrived but the street was open. We didn't have much damage here; just a lot of rain, lightening and wind.

The front was narrow and was moving by at a good clip so it went through fairly quickly leaving the temperature much cooler and still a stiff breeze blowing. Tonight the temperature is suppose to dip down close to the freezing mark and we may get a little frost. I'm glad I don't have any tender plants out yet although the fig tree has a lot of new little figs so it may get damaged.

The eys is still hurting although I thought at one point this week the end was in sight. Pardon the pun. Then it started acting up again yesterday and it's still hurting this morning. Last Friday the doctor said he was pleased with the way it was healing. I still have the contact bandage over the eye and that may be irritating the eye with all the pollen although the doctor didn't think the pollen was a problem. It's not his eye! I can definitely feel the difference when I go outside and am exposed.

At noon today we have the da Boys meeting at Howard's. This is our monthly get together of the boys from Campbell High School. We generally have upwards to 65 people there every month. Last time we had to meet at another restaurant because Dolly Parton was using Howard's to film a food fight scene for an up coming new movie. The change was nice and we may have to eventually move to a bigger place if we keep increasing our size. It's nice to see old friends and meet new ones and remember the good ole times.

Darlene has taken over the Precept class fulltime now and so she will be teaching tomorrow. The class is on Revelation and will continue for the next two years. It is quite a long study and she has gained several new members. She is an excelent teacher.

Jenni has a birthday today but she is still in CA so we won't get to celebrate with her. She sent us an email yeaterday with plans to come here the end of May for a few days so maybe we can celebrate with her then. Darlene worked last night and is sleeping. I'm going to get ready to head to Howard's so I'll close for now. Later... J
